Shah Rukh Khan marked his 61st birthday on November 2 with the release of “Tu Mil Jaaye”, the first song from his upcoming film “King”. The track, unveiled at midnight, brings Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone together on screen, with vocals by Arijit Singh and an English rap performed by Ed Sheeran.

The music video blends romance, dance and action, opening with Shah Rukh introducing his character through the dialogue, “Main qaatil nahi, aashiq hoon, aur nishana meri mashooka, aur woh aashiq hi kya jo dil cheer na de.”

Shah Rukh and Deepika appear in several settings, including a beach and a café, while the actor is also seen in action sequences and a shirtless scene. He lip-syncs to Sheeran’s rap during the video, which concludes with another dialogue hinting at his character’s darker side.

The song marks a musical collaboration between Arijit Singh and Ed Sheeran, with Madhubanti Bagchi also contributing vocals. Composed by Sachin-Jigar, the track features Hindi lyrics by Kumaar and an English rap written by Sheeran. The choreography is by Piyush-Shazia.

Announcing the release on X, Shah Rukh wrote, “Yeh Daur Ishq ka Naseeb Waalon ko milta hai… Jahan Barood ki Khushboo mein Gulab khilta hai… Of Love and other Battles….” He also shared the hashtag #LoveLikeAKing.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, “King” reunites the filmmaker with Shah Rukh following their collaboration on “Pathaan”. The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.

The ensemble cast includes Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Verma.

“King” is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
