The Department of Meteorology has warned that fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in several provinces across the country tomorrow (03).

According to the Met. Department, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the North Central, North Western, Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in the Trincomalee district.

Showers above 75 mm are likely in some areas, raising concerns over localized flooding and weather-related disruptions, according to the Met. Department.

Showers may also occur in the Southern Province and Ampara district during the morning hours.

The Department further cautioned that temporary localized strong winds and lightning could occur during thundershowers, urging the public to take adequate precautions to minimize possible damage.

Misty conditions are also expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces during the early hours of the morning.

The general public has been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary safety measures during periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
