Domestic gas prices will not be increased despite gas companies requesting authorities to approve a price hike, the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) stated.
CAA Chairman, Rumy Marshook claimed that the relevant organizations had requested for a price increase but the proposal will not be accepted by the CAA.
He also claimed that further steps will be taken to implement new laws pertaining to milk food companies while adding that certain companies were attempting to create an artificial milk powder shortage within the local market in order to be able to increase their prices.
Marshook charged that certain companies were withholding milk powder stocks while releasing limited amounts into the market. He added that the CAA is taking steps to bring about new laws to prevent this from occurring in the future.
