Two arrested after villagers clash with police in Angulana

Two persons have been arrested in connection with a clash between police officers and villagers in the Angulana area in Moratuwa this morning.
An argument between the officers, who had carried out a raid at several houses near the Angulana railway station, and residents of the area had escalated in to a clash today.
However, the situation was brought under control with the help of additional police officers, Angulana Police said.
After the incident was resolved several police teams were mobilized to carryout search operation in the area and the two arrests were made.
Meanwhile statements were recorded from several witnesses while Angulana Police are conducting an investigation.
