Four persons were killed and eleven injured in several road accidents which were reported around the country within the last 24 hours.

 

A 51-year-old person was killed last afternoon (December 26) after a train collided with a motorbike at the Liyangemulla railway crossing in Seeduwa.

 

On the Ganemulla road in Kadawatha, a 57-year-old person was killed after a van collided with a motorbike. The victim was a resident of the Koshinna area, the Ragama police stated.

 

Meanwhile, another person was killed on the Ja-Ela-Minuwangoda road in Ekala after being knocked down by a vehicle.

 

Another incident was reported in Galabindapuwanguwa, Ratnapura where a three-wheeler fell off a precipice killing one and injuring another six including three children.

 

A jeep and three-wheeler collided on the Ratnapura-Avissawella road in Minnana in which five persons including three children were hospitalised at the Avissawella hospital. One person was reported to have been in critical condition and was transferred to the National hospital, the Eheliyagoda Police stated.
