Met Department warns of rough seas, strong winds

The Met Department says that the low pressure area still persists to the East of Sri Lanka and that showery and windy conditions are expected to continue over the Eastern and Northern sea areas.
The above sea areas will be rough and dangerous, it said.
There will be showers or thundershowers at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Jaffna and Batticaloa.
Winds will be north-easterly and speed will be 30-50 kmph while the winds can be strengthening up to 60kmph at times.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Jaffna and Batticaloa may be very rough at times as the winds can be strengthening up to 70-80kmph at times.
