Payagala Police OIC transferred

The officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Payagala Police Station has been transferred due to his administrative inabilities, the Police Spokesman’s Office said today.
A Sub-Inspector (SI) of the Payagala Police Station was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegation of Bribery or Corruption yesterday (4) on charges of soliciting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The Sub-Inspector was arrested while accepting the bribe in exchange for releasing a three-wheeler involved in an accident, from the police station.
Based on this incident the OIC’s administration and supervision has been unsatisfactory and therefore he has been transferred to the Police Field Force Headquarters, the Spokesman’s Office said.
