Twenty injured after buses collide

At least 20 passengers including four women were injured and hospitalized after a private bus collided with a SLTB bus in the Thiriwanaketiya area on the Ratnapura-Pelmadulla main road.
Police said the accident occurred when the private bus, traveling from Sooriyawewa to Colombo, attempted to overtake the Colombo-bound SLTB bus arriving from Bibilagama.
The private bus had veered off the road after coming into contact with the SLTB bus.
The wounded passengers from both buses have been admitted to the Ratnapura Hospital while police are conducting further investigations.
