Police hunt for man who murdered infant

Police have launched investigations to apprehend a man who allegedly murdered his own 9-month-old daughter in the Middeniya area in Walasmulla.
The suspect, who had separated from his wife, yesterday (15) arrived at her residence and forcefully took away their daughter.
He had later contracted his wife demanding that she come to the Tekkawatta area if she wishes to see their daughter again.
However, when the woman’s cousin brother had visited the location in question in order to retrieve the infant, he had discovered the infant’s body with the throat slit.
Police have commenced investigations in order to arrest the suspect, who has reportedly fled the area.
