Police nab 6 treasure hunters

Six individuals engaged in illegal excavations with the intention of unearthing buried treasures have been arrested in the Gongahahena area in Kamburupitiya.
The arrests were made during a raid by Kamburupitiya Police, acting on information received.
Excavation equipment and various religious items found in the possession of the suspects have also taken into custody by police.
The suspects, who are residents of Kamburupitiya, Hakmana, Panadura and Colombo area, are to be produced before the Matara magistrate today.
