Samsung’s new high-end smartphone, the much-anticipated Galaxy S5, will be presented in Barcelona on February 23, 2014 at 6pm ahead of the Mobile World Congress, according to a tweet from Russian journalist Eldar Murtazin, who works for Mobile-review.com and who has a reputable track record on such matters.

According to rumours circulating in recent weeks on tech news websites worldwide, the Samsung Galaxy S5 could be equipped with new iris-scanning technology, allowing it to recognise its owner.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is also said to come with a Quad HD screen with 2560X1440 pixels, which would make it the highest-resolution smartphone available.

The device could also be equipped with a 64-bit processor, 3GB of RAM and a powerful 4,000mAh battery.

At any rate, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is sure to push the limits set by its predecessor the S4, sold worldwide since April 2013.
