
President Mahinda Rajapaksa, speaking on the phone, has congratulated Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara who scored most number of centuries for Sri Lanka in Test cricket.
Sangakkara achieved this feat yesterday during the second Test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh being played in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
The President has telephoned Sangakkara and congratulated him on his great achievements in the international cricketing arena.
Sangakkara became the fourth player to score 400 runs in a Test match as well. He is the second player to score a triple century and a century in the same Test match.
The 36-year-old added 105 to the 319 he scored in the first innings to take his total for the match to 424 runs, putting him third in the all-time list of run-scorers in a single Test match.
