Govt’s claim to hold free and fair elections cannot be accepted - UNP

We cannot accept the government’s claim that it will hold a free and fair election, UNP Leadership Council Chairman MP Karu Jayasuriya stated.

 

Speaking at a press conference held today (February 10) in Colombo, he charged that the former Western and Southern Provincial Council members were still using state property for their election propaganda.

 

He also claimed that a prominent government Minister had summoned the Western and Southern Provincial Council District Secretaries to question them regarding the UPFA nomination list.
