CaFFE complains of illegal election offices in Devinuwara

Campaign for Free and Fair Election (CaFFE) today said that UPFA candidate for the Southern Provincial Council Kanchana Wijesekara has established 14 election offices from Devinuwara Shrine, along Galle–Matara road, to Dikwella town.
However, only three offices were operational on February 16, the Executive Director of CaFFE Rajith Keerthi Tennakoon said, in a letter to the Election Commissioner.
He says that abandoned buildings have been covered with blue polythene and large cutouts and that it is evident that it is not possible to obtain permission for these ‘offices.’
Pointing out that a similar situation prevails in Kamburupitiya and Matara, CaFFE requests the Elections Chief to take suitable action.
