A jilted maid implicated in knifing a Sri Lankan female cleaner who had reportedly taken her boyfriend, was given a 7-year-jail term plus deportation from Dubai, on Monday.

The Nepalese maid DM (28) attempted to kill the Sri Lankan cleaner NS (32) with a kitchen knife inside a building in Silicon Oasis at around 5:30pm on April 2 last year, the Dubai Criminal Court learned.

A fugitive Sri Lankan nanny called N helped DM in the murder attempt as she sprayed chili powder in NS’s eyes and gagged her while DM dragged her by the hair and knifed her in the head, chest, stomach and right arm.

Vengeance

That day, both DM and N waited for NS at the entrance. When NS she refused to hand over her mobile phone and tried to enter, the duo attacked her and dragged her into the lift.

They took her to the eighth floor while beating her up. They dragged her until inside the stairway.

N inflicted bites on her arms before DM could pull out a knife and repeatedly stab her.

NS fortunately contacted her sponsor before collapsing. She was rushed to the hospital on the verge of death.

Police nabbed DM inside her room on the eighth floor. “NS had stolen my Pakistani boyfriend,” she said, Gulf Today reports.
