A security guard at the Attadassi Vidyalaya in the Thotagoda area of Akmeemana was hospitalised today (February 21) after allegedly being assaulted by a UPFA member of the Bope-Poddala Pradeshiya Sabha.
An Ada Derana correspondent reported that the alleged assault had taken place this morning.
A complaint regarding the incident was made to the Akmeemana police while the suspected PS member has not been arrested yet.
About one year ago, the suspected PS member had cut a road through the Attadassi Vidyalaya which leads to the residence of a group of people who supported him during the elections.
The security guard who was assaulted had allegedly protested the making of the road and had even provided the Education Ministry with a statement.
Allegations have been made that the assault had taken place on the grounds of this old feud.
