Two armed robbers have stolen gold jewelry worth around Rs 1 million from a jewelry store near the Nugegoda bus stand after threatening the staff with firearms today.
The robbery had taken place at around 3.45pm today while the gunmen, wearing bike helmets to conceal their identity, had arrived at the shop on a motorcycle.
Police said that two special teams have been assigned to investigate the robbery.
