Sri Lanka beat Pakistan to claim another Asia Cup title

Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 5 wickets to win the Asia Cup being played in Bangladesh. Lahiru Thirimanne scored his 3rd ODI century in the game while Lasith Malinga picked up 5 wickets for 56 runs.

Pakistan won the toss an elected to bat first and posted a total of 260/5 with Fawad Alam scoring 114 not out.

The Lankans replied by chasing the total down with five wickets and 22 balls to spare.

Mahela Jayawardena chipped in with 75 runs.

Lasith Malinga was named man of the match while Lahiru Thirimanne was awarded the man of the series award.

Sri Lanka went unbeaten in the tournament and claimed their fifth Asia Cup title equaling the tally of India.
