A 19-year-old youth has died after being brutally assaulted by a group of individuals during a function at a residence in Ambalanwatta, Galle.
The assailants had attacked the victim with a sharp object inflicting injuries to his neck, hands and legs.
The youth was admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital with critical injuries and had succumbed shortly after.
Galle Police are conducting an investigation.
