One person killed after motorbike collides with a lorry

A person travelling on a motorbike was killed after colliding with a lorry on the Galle-Colombo main road in the Kosgoda area, police stated.
The motorbike was heading towards Galle from Colombo when it attempted to overtake a lorry heading in the same direction and collided with it.
The female passenger on the motorbike was severely injured in the incident and was rushed to the Balapitiya hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The victim was a 45 year old resident of Rajagiriya.
The lorry driver was arrested following the incident while he will be presented to the Balapitiya Magistrate Court today (March 17).
The Kosgoda police are conducting further investigations.
