Man charged with raping daughter slits own throat at court

A 39-year-old man accused of raping his 15-year-old daughter had attempted to commit suicide at the Galgamuwa Magistrate’s Court today (20) by slitting his own throat with a sharp object.
The suspect, a resident of Yakdessawa in Galgamuwa, attempted to take his own life when he was produced before the court today, Ada Derana reporter said.
The suspect was admitted to the Galgamuwa Hospital and later transferred to the Kurunegala (Teaching) Hospital for further treatment.
