VIDEO: Arts, Education faculties of Colombo Uni closed indefinitely

The faculties of Arts and Education at the University of Colombo will be closed until further notice, the Vice Chancellor of the university Dr Kumara Hirimburegama said today.
He stated that a decision was taken to temporarily suspend educational services at the two faculties with effect from today due to a problematic situation which had risen during the enrolling of new students for this year and that the date for recommencing studies will be announced later.
The registration of student who had qualified for the university’s Arts and Education faculties was carried out today when a group of Arts Faculty students had caused a disturbance claiming that hostel fees have been increased.
Dr Hirimburegama stated that the two faculties were closed until further notice in order to control the situation.
