Authorities raid illicit alcohol production racket

The police along with the Colombo Excise Department raided an illicit alcohol production racket in the Uswetakeiyawa-Pattiyawala area of Muthurajawela where around Rs. 2 million worth of illicit alcohol was seized.
The operation was conducted over two days while police were able to seize 85 barrels containing around 186,000g of Goda.
The suspects involved in the production of the alcohol had fled the area but authorities stated that the suspects have been identified while efforts are under way to bring them into custody.
