Two dead after lightning strike

Two persons have died after being struck by lightning while engaged in cultivation in the Thenuwara area in Karuwalagaswewa last evening, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said.
The deceased are said to be a 24-year-old youth and a 36-year-old man.
Meanwhile it has been reported that one person has been injured due to lightening strikes in the Kataragama area.
The DMC says that strong winds which had accompanies the heavy downpour in the Morawaka, Deniyaya last evening had damaged several houses while one persons was injured when a tree brach fell on him.
