The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) today seized around 150,000 packets of jelly unsuitable for consumption with their expiration dates changed, following a raid carried out at a factory in Mawanella.
The packaging of the jelly packets display two different expiration dates, both the actual expiration date and the changed date, the CAA said.
The factory was raided following investigations into the recent discovery of a stock of jelly packets in Galle with their expiration dates changed and prepared to be released to the market.
The Consumer Affairs Authority stated that legal action will be taken against factory in question.
