A suspect has been arrested for the illegal possession of a large quantity ‘Walla Patta’ herb in the Brownswatta area in Maskeliya.
Acting on a tip-off, Maskeliya Police carried out the raid and arrested the suspect along with 13 kilograms of the endemic plant.
The 34-year-old resident of Maskeliya is to be produced at the Hatton Magistrate’s Court today.
