A person has been arrested for the possession of counterfeit currency notes of the Rs 1,000 denomination in the Galle area.
The suspect was arrested following an inspection carried out by the Galle Police intelligence unit while two fake Rs 1,000 notes were found in his possession.
Arrested suspect, a resident of Ambalangoda, is to be produced before the Galle Magistrate’s Court.
