The Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) says that there is a risk of the private bus industry completely disappearing from the country within the next 3 years.
Around 1,500 passengers are withdrawing from public transport services on a daily basis, the President of the LPBOA Gemunu Wijeratne said, at a press conference in Colombo today.
He blamed the weaknesses existing in the regulating of public transport services as the reason for this situation.
