Sri Lankan oppose ‘Buddha Bar’ in Italy

Sri Lankans living in Italy have opposed the use of “Buddha” on a bar’s name board, an Ada Derana correspondent said.
The Sri Lankan community in Italy has urged the Sri Lankan embassy in Rome to take immediate actions to remove the holy name of Lord Buddha from the name board of the bar, located at Sala Baganza in the Province of Parma.
The “Buddha Bar” was opened recently, according to Sri Lankans living in the area who say they have boycotted the venue and asked others to do the same.
Sri Lankan authorities detained and later deported a female British tourist at the Bandaranaike international airport, for having a Buddha tattoo on her arm earlier this month.
