Three arrested over gem robbery

Police have apprehended three persons from Godakawela suspected to have robbed several gem stones, worth Rs. 260 million. The robbery took place on April 28 during a transaction at a hotel in Kadugannawa, Mawanella.
The stolen gems have also been recovered by Police.
Police said that a broker and another individual had arrived for the transaction at the hotel while the persons who had accompanied the broker had snatched the gems from his hand before fleeing in the car they had arrived in.
