Navy recovers largest stock of LTTE pistol ammunition

Sri Lanka Navy says that it has discovered the largest stock of pistol ammunition ever to be recovered by the security forces, hidden by the LTTE Vellamullivaikkal.
Naval troops attached to the SLNS Gotabhaya of the Eastern Naval Command, acting on information received, recovered a haul of pistol ammunition buried at Vellamullivaikkal area in Mullaithivu with the assistance of 681 Brigade of Sri Lanka Army on Friday (May 9).
The recovered items include 120,000 (9x19mm) KOPP ammunition, 5600 ammunition of 357 Magnum (Blazer) and 2750 SG 12 Bore ammunition.
This is the largest stock of LTTE pistol ammunition ever to be recovered by the security forces, SLN said.
