Teachers arrested for cutting schoolgirl’s hair

Two female teachers of a school in Wattegama have been arrested after they allegedly chopped off a Grade 6 student’s hair by force inside a classroom.
The parents of the student had lodged a complaint with the Wattegama Police stating that teachers in question had cut their daughter’s hair, disregarding her objections.
Police said the two arrested teachers were produced at the Theldeniya Magistrate’s Court and released on a personal bail of Rs 25,000.
Wattegama Police are investigating the incident.
