Two dead in motorcycle-SUV collision

Two persons were killed following a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV near the Pattadipiriddakulam junction on the Nedunkeni-Olumadu road this morning.

The motorcycle which was entering the main road from a byroad had come into contact with the SUV, traveling towards Olumadu.

The motorcycle rider and passenger were admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital with critical injuries, however passed away shortly after.

 The deceased have been identified as a 39-year-old from Olumadu and a 30-year-old resident of Kirisuddan.

The driver of the SUV has been arrested over the incident and is to be produced at the Vavuniya Magistrate’s Court.
