One dead, 10 injured after bowser-van collision

One person was killed while another 10 were injured bowser collided with van in the Lellupitiya area on the Badulla-Colombo main road this morning.
A bowser traveling from Pelmadulla towards Colombo had collided with a van traveling on the opposite side of the road.
The passengers of the van were traveling from Kirillawala to Embilipitiya to attend a funeral when the accident had occurred, police said.
The deceased has been identified as a 50-year-old resident of Kirillawala while 10 persons including the van driver and 7 women have been admitted to the Ratnapura Hospital with injuries.
The driver of the bowser has been arrested over the incident while Ratnapura Police are conducting further investigations.
