Woman stabbed and murdered by illicit lover

A married woman has been stabbed to death in the Agunawila area in Mundalama last night allegedly by her illicit lover.
Thilina Dilrukshi, 38, was found with several cuts and bruises in her body while neighbors had rushed her to the Mundalama Hospital. The attack had taken place at around 7.40pm yesterday while the police emergency hotline was alerted.
However, she was pronounced dead on admittance by doctors. Police said that the woman’s throat had been slit by the perpetrator.
Pallama Police suspect that the murder had been carried out by the woman’s illicit lover. No arrests have been made so far while Pallama Police are conducting investigations.
