Seventeen Indian fishermen have been arrested have been arrested by Sri Lanka Navy personnel for violating the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and venturing into Sri Lankan waters.
The fishermen were arrested along with 3 multi-day fishing trawlers in seas off Talaimannar, navy spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said.
According to Indian media reports, the arrested fishermen are from Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.
