Ten shops have been closed in the Hatton town due to the risk of landslides, Nuwara Eliya District Secretary D.P.G. Kumarasiri said today.
A four-year-old girl died and 3 others were wounded after a mound of earth fell on them behind the shops last Friday.
Following a report submitted by the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau on the incident, measures were taken to close down the shops, he said.
