Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant as deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Colombo and Galle and Eastern deep sea areas will be very rough at times as wind speeds can strengthen up to 70-80kmph.
A severe weather advisory issued by the Early Warning Centre of the Department of Meteorology said that the possibility for increasing of South-west monsoonal wind speed over the country (particularly along the western slopes of the Central hills) and adjacent sea areas at times is still high.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and several spells of showers will occur in the Western province and in the Galle and Matara districts. Showers may spread to the North-Western province too, it said.

Other sea areas around the island will also be rough at times.
