
The Water Board says that the 36 hour water cut imposed in several areas including parts of Colombo will continue in some areas and that the water supply will be restored by midnight today.
The water supply to Kotte, Baththaramulla, Malabe, Thalangama, Koswatta, Kalupaluwawa, Thalawathugoda, Kalalgoda, Hokandara, Jayawadanagama, Hokandara, Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa, Kesbewa, Borella, Kirulapone and suburb areas was suspended 36 hours from Saturday (2) 9 a.m. to Sunday night 9 p.m.
However, it had been reported that the water supply to several areas had not been restored yet and that this had caused various hardship to residents in Colombo and suburbs.
When contacted by Ada Derana, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) stated efforts are being taken to restore the water supply to Narahenpita, Nugegoda, Madiwela, Kotte and Battaramulla areas.
