Advisory panel for missing persons commission to be expanded

The three member advisory panel appointed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to advice the Missing Persons Commission will be expanded to six.
President Rajapaksa speaking to heads of media at Temple Trees today said that the advisory panel of three international experts was appointed upon the request by the Presidential Commission to Investigate into Complaints Regarding Missing Persons (PCICRMP).
The President said that the new panel was appointed to provide legal advice for the commission and this panel will not interfere with the ongoing investigation.
The advisory panel compromising Sir Desmond de Silva, Sir Geoffrey Nice, and Prof. David Crane was appointed last month.
President Rajapaksa also said that novel projects will be launched effective island-wide , with respect to irrigation & water resources management, in order to provide adequate solutions for the water issue in the country.
