Uva PC poll: Postal voting on Sep. 4 & 5

Postal voting for the upcoming Uva Provicnial Council electionwill be held on September 4th and 5th, the Department of Elections said. The Uva provincial council poll is be held on the September 20.
The department today commenced issuing preference numbers of candidates contesting the elections.
Candidates are to be summoned to the District Secretariats in Monaragala and Badulla, in order to obtain their preferential voting numbers.
All together 617 candidates (323 from Monaragala and 294 from Badulla) representing 14 political parties and 11 independent groups will contest the election.
14 councilors will be elected for the Moneragala district while 18 will be elected for the Badulla district.
