Mahinda Deshapriya to appear before HRCSL today

Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya will appear at the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL), today.
Dr. Prathiba Mahanamahewa Commissioner, HRCSL, told Ada Derana that Mahinda Deshapriya will be summoned to the commission following two complaints lodged with the HRCSL by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and United National Party (UNP), with respect to Uva Provincial Council election violations.
The JVP has lodged a complaint with the HRCSL accusing the government of deploying certain state officials for election propaganda for the Uva PC polls, while the UNP too submitted a written statement, on 3 September, regarding continued election law violations occur in the province.
