Date amendment in Uva PC polls?

A final decision on holding the Uva PC polls on 20th September still pending as situation in Monaragala district below peaceful election levels- Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said.
According to Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE), over 224 election violation complaints have been reported, thus war, with regard to the Uva Provincial Council election.
Among the 224 complaints, some 166 complaints were reported from Moneragala district while 46 complaints were reported from Badulla. There were also 12 cases common to both districts.
All together 617 candidates (323 - Monaragala and 294 - Badulla) representing 14 political parties and 11 independent groups will contest the election. Some 14 councilors will be elected for the Moneragala district while 18 councilors will be elected for the Badulla district.
