A fifty-year-old man has been hacked to death with a sword in the Thalgaswala area in Galle.
Nagoda Police have directed their attention towards an individual known as ‘Kan Kota’ who is believed to be involved in the murder, which had been carried out by two individuals.
The victim, a resident of Thalgaswala, had suffered critical injuries following the attack while he had succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the body of a 21-year-old youth, who had died under suspicious circumstances, has been discovered at a residence in Waduraba, Galle.
Police suspect that he may have been murdered as several blood stains have been found inside the home and cuts have also been inflicted on his body.
The youth had died while his mother had left the house to pluck tea leaves.
Waduraba Police are conducting further investigations into the death.
