Four suspects, including three youths, allegedly involved in the drug trade have been arrested with a large quantity of heroin following raids carried out by the Chilaw anti-vice squad in and around the Wennappuwa area.
One of the suspects, a 26-year-old resident of Haluduwana North, was arrested with 3,030 milligrams of heroin while the other suspects were nabbed in Ulhitiyawa, Wennappuwa.
One of them is said to be a 25-years-old and another only 22-years-old while 3,510 milligrams and 24 milligrams of heroin was found in their possession respectively.
The other suspect, a 41-year-old man, was arrested with 22 milligrams of heroin.
All arrested men are suspected to be involved in the drug trade in the area.
They have been handed over to the Wennappuwa Police along with the confiscated drugs in order to be produced at court.
