The low pressure area in the South-east Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression and it will affect the weather over the deep and shallow sea areas off Eastern coasts from tomorrow onwards, the Department of Meteorology said.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers may spread to the North-Western province too, the department said, adding, that heavy rainfalls more than 100mm are also likely at some places.
Thundershowers will develop at several places elsewhere during the afternoon or evening while there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
