PICTURES: Toddler falls into well and rescued by Army

A toddler who fell into 30-ft deep well and soon after rescued by Army soldiers attached to the 59th Brigade in Keppilaru area in Mullaitivu is now listed in stable condition, a hospital spokesman said.
The one-and two month year old toddler was drowning in the unguarded well, and, however, was rescued by four soldiers who had rushed into the scene, according to the police.
It was reported that the toddler was given first aid and admitted to the Mullaitivu District hospital, after Sergeant W.A.N.P. Wijeyesinghe roped down into the well and retrieved the child.
“The child’s condition is stable. She was being given treatment for shock,” hospital sources added.
