A special one-way traffic plan is to be implemented between Wellawatta and Bambalapitiya along Marine Drive from Monday (Nov. 3) for 2 hours during the morning and evening on weekdays.
Police Headquarter said that heavy traffic congestion has been prevalent during rush hours on Marine Drive, due to road repairs being carried out near Boswell Place Junction and Collingwood Place Junction.
Therefore, in order to minimize traffic congestion, only vehicles heading in the direction of Colombo will be allowed travel on Marine Drive from Ramakrishna Junction in Wellawatta to Kingrose Avenue Junction in Bambalapitiya between 7.00am - 9.00am.
Meanwhile only vehicles heading in the direction of Dehiwala are permitted to travel along the aforementioned section of Marine Drive between 4.30pm – 6.30pm.
