Thundershowers to reduce, says Met. Department

Showers may occur at several places along the coastal areas around the island, particularly Northern, Eastern and Northwestern coastal areas, the Met. Department says.
However, the Department said that as the prevailing atmospheric disturbance is moving away from the island, thundershowers over the island will reduce within couple of days.
Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island during the afternoon and night, the Met Dept. predicts. Heavy falls (more than 100mm) are also likely at some places.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages by lightning activities.
