Underworld figure shot in Paliyagoda

An alleged underworld figure known as Yakada Ranga was injured and hospitalized following a conflict with a group of unidentified people, this morning, the police said.
The suspect who sustained gunshot wounds has been admitted to the Colombo National hospital with life threatening injuries, according to the police.
The shooting incident had taken place in Nuge Road, Paliyagoda at around 10.30 a.m. Acting Police Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the unidentified gunman had fled in a trishaw after the shooting.
The police said that the victim has been identified as Galle Mihiduge Rangana Prsd alias Yakada Ranga who is notorious for several criminal activities in Paliyagoda area.
